The Society organised a Conference on Tunnelling and Slope Instability Hazards in the Himalayas at the Institute for Development of Technical Training (ITDT), Dehradun.
The conference examined the geological and geotechnical hazards associated with tunnelling and with slope instability in the young, tectonically active Himalaya, and their implications for major infrastructure projects. It was attended by 81 participants.
